[About this blog] Inspired by local soccer player Mike Lim during my rookie reporter days at Singapore Polytechnic, I set up this blog in August 2002. I feel that blogging is a novel platform to document interesting facets of my life and my thoughts on certain issues. [Email blogger] ephraim@singnet.com.sg

[preview]
was at the microsoft office last night playing the new x-box version of winning eleven 8!!! thanks to close pal zhiqi that i got to go for this exclusive preview...

i never really played so intensely before as i am not really a game fanatic... the people at microsoft had more than six sets of x-boxes and each had four controllers for the people present!!! so so cool... i could play with a pal against two others!!! and they also gave each guest an x-box polo tee...

you should feel lucky if you work for microsoft because their pantry is just like a mini cafe... it's like having a mini 7-11 at your workplace you know...

so don't miss the x-box version of winning eleven 8 as it hits stores next monday!!! it rocks... i think you can pre-order it too...

[almost chinese new year]
chinese new year is round the corner!!!

and so i went to chinatown to soak in the mood last week...

also watched shall we dance lately with the church guys and gals and it's quite a touching show... one thing really meaningful that was revealed in the show is the reason why people get married... kindof makes sense if you ask me...

why? it is because you want to have someone to witness your life - your ups and downs... your happy times your sad times and those really lonely times.... life would be pretty meaningless if it is only you walking down that road... so go get a partner...

so that's a little nugget from the movie that i liked.... overall it was fairly okay and was somewhat hilarious... and of course there was j.lo and her perky you know whats... go figure...

i also have been busy updating the mr & miss singapore polytechnic 04/05 website lately in case you want to know what i've been doing....

[reporter essentials]
apart from the necessary skills... a reporter has to be fully equipped for the job...

first of all.... the assignment brief that contains information on the story you are going to do.... sometimes there are press or media releases...

writing material to take down notes...

and a tape recorder and tapes if you need to quote people in verbatim... i use it when i do interviews with big shots... for example an interview with the president...

copies of the publication to distribute to others and for own reference...

and finally a good camera to take pictures...

it continues to heat up and this week as the mmsp contestants go hand-in-hand once again for their weekly dance practice at the audition room...

also, special guests from last year's pageant also turned up the heat.... even the choreographer named sunny lent a hand by offering to teach some basic catwalk moves...

it's no wonder there are sunny smiles all around...
